Procedures:

1. Every cadet wears the School Cord on the right shoulder.

2. All other cords are worn on the left shoulder.

3. No more than two (2) shoulder cords are worn on the uniform.

4. If "qualified" for more than one left shoulder cord, the cadet chooses one.

5. The XO and Battalion Staff wear the teal staff cord even though they are eligible to wear, for instance, the JCLC cord and/or a team cord.

6.There are no special cords for commanders or other position.

Team Cords:

1. A Team Cord is awarded to Team members according  to the requirements or procedures for issuance of the cord for that particular Team.

2. The Team Cord is worn  while the cadet is an active participant on the Team and for the rest of the school year.

 

Situation 1: Cadet Jones earns a Rifle Team cord in October. She can wear the Team cord till the end of the school year. If in the following September Cadet Jones joins the Rifle Team again, she can continue to wear this cord. If she doesn't stay on the Rifle Team, the cord has to be returned for she is no longer an active participant.

Situation 2: Cadet Jones earns a Rifle Team cord in October and alter qualifies to wear the Raider Team cord. SHe can exchange the Rifle Team cord for the Raider Team cord and wear it for the rest of the school year. Or, she can choose to continue wearing the Rifle Team cord.

Situation 3: Cadet Jones earns the Rifle Team cord and wears it the entire school year. In the summer, she earns the JCLC cord and joins the Rifle Team again in September. Which cord would she wear on the left shoulder- JCLC or Rifle Team? Her choice as she is eligible to wear both.

Cords on Class B:

1. Typically, shoulder cords are worn only on the ASU coat.

2. When the Class B uniform is worn, only the nameplate and rank/shoulder boards are required. All other items on the ASU coat (cords, ribbons, badges, arch pins, etc) are not required but also can be transferred to the Class B shirt.

Honor Roll:

1. Cadets with a cumulative GPA 3.00 and above wear the Academic Wreath.

2. A shoulder cord is not worn for this acaddemic achievement.
